FROM OUR ORGANIZERS:
My name is Quanice Shumpert. In conjunction with Brittany Banks of Columbus, OH, This small grassroots effort, #Columbus4Flint Water Drive began as an idea to give back to the people of Flint, Michigan. We are collecting water and monetary donations from kind-hearted individuals looking for a way to impact Flint residents directly. As many of my family members are current residents of my hometown Flint, Michigan, this crisis hits home significantly. Any and all money collected will go directly towards the purchase of bottled waters and hand sanitizers. Our only goal is to provide the residents of Flint with the most basic necessity of life, WATER.

We will be driving to Flint, Michigan the morning of January 30th with two large moving trucks and and a dozen passionate local residents of Columbus ready to distribute the donations. We will be going door to door to families (grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, close friends etc..) who reside in Flint and are in need, with elderly and families with children under the age of 6 as our first priority. Any remaining water will be given to local churches to be distributed amongst Flint residents.

It is a guarantee that this man made tragedy will not be resolved overnight due to the neglect of government officials.

Every American… in fact Every HUMAN BEING Deserves CLEAN Water.
